Today, our Chair Jolanda van den Broek and Olya Peneva officially signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and friendship between the Dutch Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and the BFBHR – Българска фондация за бизнеса и правата на човека.🤝
The BFBHR is an independent NGO dedicated to promoting a human rights-based approach in the business sector. Their mission is to support businesses in Bulgaria in aligning with internationally recognized human rights standards while empowering civil society to drive meaningful change. Through seminars, conferences, research, and reports, they actively contribute to raising awareness and fostering responsible business practices.
During our meeting, we discussed the importance of respecting human rights in business, stakeholder engagement, and the growing need for companies to commit to ethical and responsible operations.
The signing of this memorandum marks an important step in our shared commitment to spreading awareness on key societal issues, involving human rights among our members and across international and Bulgarian private, public, and civil society organizations. Through this collaboration, our members will also gain access to a wealth of knowledge on key business standards, international best practices and policies related to the field of business and human rights, digital rights, environmental protection, and more. 📖
