Earlier this week, the Chair of the Dutch Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, Jolanda van den Broek, had the pleasure to attend the “Future 2.0. Forum, Investments in Literacy for Democracy, Sustainable Development, and Human Capital” at INTERPRED – World Trade Center, Sofia.
Supporting people to become functionally literate and critical thinkers is a guarantee for preserving democratic values and creating an environment where everyone can actively develop their full potential.
We were also pleased to understand (amongst many international speakers) of the participation of Mr Daan Beeke, Network Manager of EURead and domain specialist at Stichting Lezen (Dutch Reading Foundation) from The Netherlands. This underlines the importance of bilateral and international relationships and networks, also clearly highlighted in his presentation: Why literacy and reading networks can become the game-changers in Europe.
